  • SmartForest-II is a three-dimensional forest ecosystem simulator. "Walk" between three-dimensional tree icons where each tree symbol represents biological data about tree type, size, and vigor. SmartForest-II provides navigational and analytical tools that enable quick and efficient analyses of entire forest stands as well as individual trees and are useful in visualizingthe impacts of forest management decisions.  A modeling language for describing the forest landscape, the dynamics driving the system and the actions operating on it. An editor that you can use to create and run your models. An interpreter that runs the model and produces output in the form of 2D graphs and report files. This hypertext document reviews modeling of biological structures and simulation of their development, coupled with the visualization of simulation results, which has led to a better understanding of morphogenesis and given rise to new procedural techniques for realistic image synthesis.
Topiary models present examples of plants subject to the influences of the environment, and  plants reciprocally affecting the environment.  Demonstration of SORTIE,  a detailed, mechanistic model of a forest derived from data, addressing questions of relevant detail, emergent properties, and scale. The most powerful aspect of SORTIE is its ability to predict large-scale forest dynamics from a model parameterized exclusively from individual trees.  Conduct a search on visualization topics and projects through out the world through this extensive database.
